Where Heart Meets History

When researching your family’s war story, I go above and beyond the call of duty.

My work speaks for itself in books, films, and hundreds of hearts and homes across the world.

How it works …

Our work together begins and ends with connection and communication. To begin, I offer an initial complimentary zoom or telephone consultation where we discuss your specific case and what you currently know about your veteran's service or your family’s journey through war. Based on our conversation, I provide an estimate. After your project is complete, we again meet via zoom or phone and I will offer a detailed explanation of my findings.

Individual Military Research & Documentation

Even if you have been told your veteran’s file burned in the 1973 fire, I will bring their war experience vividly to life through a meticulously crafted, full-color legacy PDF report that will become a cherished family bedrock. These reports are more than just collections of documents - they're carefully curated narratives that help you understand your veteran's complete journey through service.

In-depth & Complex Case Investigation

When standard research methods reach their limits, my specialized deep-dive investigations begin. I excel at unraveling complex war-related histories that others might consider impossible to solve, bringing to light stories that have remained hidden for generations. My approach transforms seemingly disconnected fragments into complete narratives.

Civilian & Holocaust Research
and Genealogy

Let me guide you through the complex journey of understanding your civilian wartime history. Whether you're seeking to document a Holocaust survivor's experience, trace footsteps through occupation and resistance, or understand how war shaped your ancestors' lives, I bring expertise and profound respect to this deeply personal investigation.

Exactly 78 years to the day after the liberation of Dachau, I accompanied my long-time friend and 42nd ‘Rainbow’ Infantry Division veteran Lockered 'Bud' Gahs to the commemoration of the liberation. When we met 45th Division ‘Thunderbird’ veteran Dan Dougherty, I spotted a historic opportunity and arranged for a Rainbow and a Thunderbird to sit for an informal and impromptu interview.

Bud and Dan told me about that day when Dachau, and its prisoners, were waiting for them. PFC Bud Gahs served in the Anti-Tank Company, 222nd Infantry Regiment. SSG Dan Dougherty served in C Company, 157th Infantry Regiment.

Wagons Roll:
A Memoir of the East Riding Yeomanry 1942-1946

It was an honor to be a contributing editor to this memoir about the sacrifices of our British friends.

In 1942, at twenty years of age, Alan King was called up to carry out duties for his country. The son of a First World War veteran, Alan was thrust into the preparations for the pending landings on the coast of Fortress Europe to bring liberation and peace to the continent.

As yet untitled true story of WWII

By Erin Faith Allen

After being approached by a family to thoroughly research and write the story of their veteran’s experiences during the last weeks of World War II, I got busy doing what I do best. The work is well underway, and has given me the opportunity to do what I love most - deep dive into all the rabbit holes of history and preserve the story of an incredible group of men who gave it all for freedom.
